Orbit Fab Welcomes Space Industry Veteran Dr. Claire Leon to Board of Advisors

LAFAYETTE, COLORADO — March 18, 2025 — Orbit Fab Inc. announces the appointment of Dr. Claire Leon to its Board of Advisors. Dr. Leon brings over four decades of space industry leadership to the role.
Beginning her distinguished career at Hughes Space and Communications in 1979, Dr. Leon later rose to Vice President of Navigation and Communications Systems at Boeing, where she oversaw critical Air Force satellite and classified programs before retiring as VP of National Programs in 2013.
Following her corporate career, Dr. Leon served as Director of the Launch Enterprise Directorate for the Air Force, managing DoD rocket procurement and next-generation launch systems development. Most significantly, as the inaugural Director of the Space Systems Integration Office at the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command, she established the enterprise systems engineering framework that prioritized warfighter requirements and delivery of resilient space capabilities—expertise directly relevant to Orbit Fab’s mission of integrating refueling capabilities on government satellites.
Dr. Leon holds a Ph.D. in Executive Management from Claremont Graduate University, an MBA from UCLA, and degrees in Management and Mechanical Engineering.
“I’m honored to join Orbit Fab’s Advisory Board at this transformative time for the space industry,” said Dr. Leon. “Throughout my career at Boeing, the Air Force, and Space Force, I’ve worked to enhance space capabilities that serve critical national interests. Orbit Fab’s refueling technology is a perfect complement to Dynamic Space Operations, giving satellites the maneuverability and longevity needed for responsive, resilient space architecture. Beyond supporting national security, this technology will be instrumental in enabling sustained exploration missions beyond Earth orbit. The ability to refuel spacecraft will fundamentally change how we approach deep space missions, making human presence throughout the solar system more achievable and economically viable. I’m excited to help bridge commercial innovation with government requirements to advance both national security and enable deep space exploration.”
Daniel Faber, CEO of Orbit Fab, stated, “Dr. Leon’s leadership in government and business has already had a major impact on the evolution of satellite capabilities in communications, observation, and navigation. We share her commitment to achieving a step-change in capabilities and resilience of the US national security space infrastructure. We’re delighted that Claire is joining the Orbit Fab team to accelerate integration of Orbit Fab’s mature satellite refueling technology across all US government programs.”
